The visualplanet touchfoil™ can be applied directly to a glass sheet and mounted on the frame of an LCD. This method conceals the electrical components. There is a requirement for testing the air gap between the LCD panel and the back of the touchfoil™.
For a normal LCD from 30"to 70" the gap should be around 8mm to 10mm, a larger LCD may need 12mm. LED's follow the same rule but some makes and models have worked with smaller air gaps such as 5mm to 6mm. When using an LCD/LED with double glazing an air gap of 12mm+ is needed.
It is also necessary to ground the controller unit to the case of the LCD unit.
Testing should always be done by the customer as results may prove better or worse than those stated above.
